Colli Piacentini is another DOC classification in Piacenza.  The Colli Piacentini designation includes DOC wines made from grapes grown in vineyards with a specific composition. The Controlled Designation of Origin Colli Piacentini wines must be followed by a reference to one of the following types of wine: Monterosso Val d’Arda, Trebbianino Val Trebbia, Valnure, Barbera, Bonarda, Malvasia, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Nero, Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay or Vin Santo.

Malvasia is the most common DOC Colli Piacentini wine. It is produced with the Malvasia di Candia Aromatica grape variety, which originated in Ancient Greece. It is a wine with a straw-yellow colour, a characteristic and intense aroma, a dry or semi-dry or sweet taste; it is well-orchestrated and fresh, still or lively.

D.O.C. MALVASIA

A wine exclusive to the Piacenza area
Malvasia DOC Colli Piacentini is made from a grape variety that is only grown in the Piacenza area: Malvasia di Candia Aromatica. It has a straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights and an intense, lingering aroma; it is aromatic, well-orchestrated, dry or sweetish; still, slightly sparkling or semi-sparkling, also sparkling or as a raisined wine.
Serve at 10°C. The dry version goes well with soups, eggs or fish dishes; the sweet wine with cakes and pastries.
Colour: straw-yellow with greenish highlights.
Aroma: intense and lingering, aromatic, well-orchestrated.
Flavour: dry or sweetish or sweet.
Alcohol content: 10.5%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI CHARDONNAY

When a white wine is a certainty
Chardonnay DOC Colli Piacentini has a straw-yellow colour with a greenish tinge and a fine, fruity aroma; it is pleasant and well-orchestrated, dry, fresh, crisp, distinctive, slightly sparkling, sometimes semi-sparkling and also sparkling.
Serve at 10°C. It is excellent with starters, fish dishes, fried fish, mushrooms and mild cheese.
Colour: straw-yellow with a greenish tinge.
Aroma: fine and fruity, pleasant and well-orchestrated.
Flavour: dry, fresh, crisp.
Alcohol content: 11%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI MONTEROSSO VAL D’ARDA

A special taste from one of our valleys
Monterosso Val D’Arda DOC Colli Piacentini has a straw-yellow or slightly golden-yellow colour and a pleasant aroma; it is slightly aromatic, vinous, delicate, subtle, dry or sweetish, still or slightly sparkling, semi-sparkling or sparkling.
Serve at 10°C. It goes well with starters, cured meats, risottos; the slightly sweet version with desserts.
Colour: straw-yellow or slightly golden-yellow.
Aroma: pleasant, slightly aromatic, vinous.
Flavour: delicate, subtle, dry or slightly sweet.
Alcohol content: 11%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI PINOT GRIGIO

A must experience
Pinot Grigio Colli Piacentini has a pale or pinkish straw-yellow colour and a subtle aftertaste of roses; it is dry, fresh, fine, slightly sparkling or sparkling.
Serve at 9°C. It goes well with light starters, fried fish, flans, creams and white sauces.
Colour: pale or pinkish straw-yellow.
Aroma: fresh and floral.
Flavour: subtle aftertaste of roses.
Alcohol content: 11%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI SAUVIGNON

Delicate and floral
Sauvignon DOC Colli piacentini has a distinctive intense straw-yellow colour; it is delicate, subtle, fine and dry, with flavours of wild flowers; still, slightly sparkling or semi-sparkling.
Serve at 10°C. It is excellent with soups, velvet sauces and fish in white sauce.

Flavour: wild flowers.
Alcohol content: 11%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI TREBBIANINO VAL TREBBIA

A speciality from one of our valleys
Trebbianino Val Trebbia DOC Colli Piacentini has a straw or pale yellow colour, it has a pleasant aroma, slightly aromatic, with a delicate, grapey, subtle, dry flavour; slightly sparkling, semi-sparkling or sparkling.
Serve at 10°C. It is excellent with starters, cured meats, soups, vegetables and delicate fish dishes.

Flavour: delicate, subtle, dry.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI VALNURE

Delicate and aromatic
Valnure DOC Colli Piacentini has a straw-yellow colour and a distinctive aroma; it is pleasant and aromatic, with a fresh and intense flavour that tends to semi-dry or sweetish; slightly sparkling, semi-sparkling or sparkling.
Serve at 10°C. It goes well with cured meats, fruit and desserts.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI VIN SANTO

A sweet dessert and meditation wine
Vin Santo DOC Colli Piacentini has a straw/golden yellow colour, with an intense, aromatic, distinctive and ethereal aroma. The flavour is dry or sweet, soft, well-orchestrated, intensely aromatic. It is aged for at least 48 months, 36 of which in wooden casks, starting from 1st November of the vintage year.
Serve at 13°C. It is excellent with desserts or as a meditation wine.
Colour: straw/golden yellow.
Aroma: intense, aromatic, distinctive, ethereal.
Flavour: dry or sweet, soft, well-orchestrated, intensely aromatic.
Alcohol content: 16%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI VIN SANTO DI VIGOLENO

Exquisite and for important occasions
Vin Santo di Vigoleno DOC Colli Piacentini has a golden/amber colour of varying intensity and an intense and distinctive aroma; it has a sweet flavour, well-orchestrated, rounded, full-bodied, velvety; it is aged for at least 60 months, with a minimum of 48 months in wooden casks starting from 1st November of the harvest year.
Serve at 13°C. It is suitable with desserts or as a meditation wine.
Colour: golden and amber in varying degrees of intensity.
Aroma: intense, aromatic, distinctive.
Flavour: sweet, well-orchestrated, rounded, full-bodied and velvety.
Alcohol content: 18%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI PINOT NERO

Also as a white wine
Pinot Nero DOC Colli Piacentini has quite an intense red, pinkish or straw-yellow colour; it is dry, sapid, pleasant and well-orchestrated, still, semi-sparkling and sparkling (also made as a white wine).
Serve at around 16°C. The red wine is excellent with offal-based starters and brings out the flavour of cheese; the white is ideal as an aperitif or with fish.
Colour: quite an intense red, pinkish or straw-yellow colour.
Aroma: intense.
Flavour: dry, sapid, pleasant and well-orchestrated.
Alcohol content: 11.5%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI NOVELLO

A young wine for everyone.
The Novello DOC Colli Piacentini has a ruby-red colour and a distinctive aroma; it is vinous and fruity, with a dry, semi-dry, crisp and fruity flavour; still or sometimes slightly sparkling.
Serve at 13-14°C. Excellent with pasta dishes or pork.
Colour: ruby-red.
Aroma: distinctive, vinous and fruity.
Flavour: dry and semi-dry, acidulous, crisp and fruity.
Alcohol content: 11.5%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI CABERNET SAUVIGNON

To be discovered and prized.
The Colli Piacentini Cabernet Sauvignon has a ruby-red or sometimes garnet colour and a distinctive, pleasant and slightly herbaceous aroma; it is crisp, dry or semi-dry, slightly tannic and is particularly suitable for ageing.
Serve at 18-19°C. It is excellent with all kinds of meat dishes or mature cheese.
Colour: ruby-red, sometimes garnet.
Aroma: distinctive, pleasant, slightly herbaceous.
Flavour: dry or semi-dry, slightly tannic, still.
Alcohol content: 12%.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI BARBERA

Ideal with traditional pasta dishes
Colli Piacentini Barbera DOC has a ruby-red colour and a distinctive aroma; it is slightly vinous and tannic, with a tangy body, crisp, dry or semi-dry, still or slightly sparkling or semi-sparkling.
Serve at about 16°. It goes well with pasta dishes, boiled meat and white meat.

Flavour: tangy body, crisp, dry or semi-dry.

D.O.C. COLLI PIACENTINI BONARDA

A traditional classic
Bonarda has a ruby-red colour; it is grapey, full-bodied, with a distinctive pleasant almondy aroma, tending to sweetish, also dry or sweet, slightly tannic, fresh, sparkling or semi-sparkling. Serve at 18°C. It goes well with tasty soups; the sweet wine is particularly good with strawberries and pastries.
Colour: ruby-red.
Aroma: distinctive and pleasant almondy aroma.
Flavour: grapey, full-bodied, tending to sweetish, also dry or sweet, slightly tannic.
Alcohol content: 11.5%.
